The large number of rivers which flow from higher altitudes of Himalayas down to the plain Terai region provides high potentials in Hydropower generation. Himalaya Region also provides favorable condition for wind power and solar power generation.
Tourism is one of the major pillars of Nepali economy. Nepal has significant number of tourist attractions including Mt. Everest (Highest peak of the world), Pokhara Valley, Lumbini (Birthplace of Lord Buddha), Chitwan National Park (famous for one horned Rhino), 10 UNESCO world heritage sites etc. Currently, Nepal"s yearly Tourist inflow is 1 Million. The trend of tourist inflow is increasing yearly which attracts investment in tourism and hospitality sector.
Nepal"s large number of IT skilled manpower, cheap energy price and housing, low corporate tax favors investments in ICT & software services.
Availability of significant area of productive land, sources of irrigation, diverse climate and geography provides Agritech & Food systems as an attractive sector of investment.
It is one of the underdiscovered sector in Nepal. The government data shows availability of huge amount of several minerals like iron, magnesium, copper, limestone, coal etc. in different parts of the country.
